Features
The discipline of a good advisor, on your side of the table.
Fifteen feature areas built around two ideas: the Asset Allocation Model is the strategic artifact that drives projection and oversight, and the Investment Policy Statement is the constitution that governs behavior. Every other feature enforces or reports against one or both.
Tiered by data depth
Each feature is tagged with the tier of data it requires. Tier A (model-only) features work with just an Asset Allocation Model and an IPS — no positions or lots. Tier B (position-level) features require current positions. Tier C (lot-level) features require tax-lot detail. All three tiers are included in the same Companion subscription — you graduate to deeper data when each unlocks a feature you want to use.
Area 0
· Tier AAsset Allocation Model & Projection Engine
A first-class model with sleeves, asset classes, per-class assumptions (real return, inflation, yield, tax character, default account-type placement, benchmark index), and version history. Template Gallery: Bogle three-fund, Ferri Core Four, Swensen, Browne Permanent, Dalio All-Weather, Yale (retail-adapted), 60/40, 70/30, Income-Tilt for Retirees. Deterministic projection with three explicit traces — base, conservative, stressed — and a year-by-year failure marker per trace. Real vs. nominal, pre-tax vs. post-tax, wealth vs. income toggles. Model-vs-Budget coverage. Multi-Model Comparison side-by-side.
Area 1
· Tier AInvestment Policy Statement
Guided IPS builder with risk capacity, tolerance, and need scored separately (the lowest of the three usually governs). Scenario-driven discovery for tolerance — not abstract Likert questions. Sleeve and asset-class targets reference the active Asset Allocation Model. Sell-discipline rules, never-sell rules, tax-location rules, stabilization period, cooling-off mode, version history, and a shareable IPS PDF export for your CPA, attorney, or trustee.
Area 2
· All tiersMulti-Entity Architecture
Hierarchical map of individuals, trusts, LLCs, foundations, and DAFs with multi-parent ownership. Look-through exposure across nested entities and ETFs. Per-entity P&L and distribution tracking for K-1 and Form 1041 prep. Tax classification tagging (grantor trust, non-grantor, disregarded, partnership, S-corp).
Area 3
· Tier B/CPortfolio & Fixed Income
Holdings with tax lots and the seven-value tax-character taxonomy (in-state muni / out-of-state muni / Treasuries / qualified dividend / ordinary income / capital gain distribution / return of capital). Account management-type tagging (self-directed, advisor-managed, institutional). TWR / IRR / benchmark comparison reconstructed against your versioned IPS. Bond ladder, duration sensitivity, after-tax yield with state-specific muni rules (including IL/IA/OK/WI exceptions), GO vs. revenue, AMT flags. Bond evaluation checklist. Bond Reinvestment Workbench when bonds mature or are called. Holding Thesis on every position. Position Review Prompt. Rebalancing Worksheet.
Area 4
· Tier A/B/CTax Planning
Loss Harvesting Scanner with your own Replacement Security Library (Tier C). Capital-gains scenarios that compare FIFO, LIFO, highest-cost, and specific-lot strategies side by side (Tier C). Income broken out by tax character. Estimated-tax tracker for federal and state. A bracket dashboard that watches every threshold that changes your bill — federal, state, the Net Investment Income Tax, the Medicare premium surcharge (IRMAA, two-year lookback), AMT, and capital-gains rate cliffs. Roth Conversion Modeler that handles the complications most calculators miss — IRMAA, the SECURE 2.0 ten-year inheritance rule, state-tax differentials between conversion and withdrawal years, and non-deductible-basis tracking. Compliance calendar with K-1 and RMD reminders. Year-End Checklist that generates dynamically each October and December. Regulatory-Change Surface that translates new tax law into what it means for you specifically.
Area 5
· Tier B+Private & Alternative Investments
Manual PE/VC tracking with J-curve, vintage-year analysis, TVPI/DPI/RVPI, and pacing model. BDC dashboard with dividend coverage, NAV trend, non-accrual, and premium/discount. Private credit and hedge fund tracking with redemption windows and gate provisions. Alternative Investment Memo template. Real estate tracker with manual valuation. Passion assets log.
Area 6
· Tier A+Strategic Planning
Retirement modeling on the deterministic projection engine with Guyton-Klinger guardrails (dynamic spending rules that adjust withdrawals as the portfolio moves). What-if scenarios for market shocks and life events. Asset Location Flags against your IPS rules with order-of-priority hints. Withdrawal Sequencing Planner that watches tax brackets and the Medicare premium surcharge as it sequences. Cash-Deployment Workbench for windfalls, business exits, RSU vesting, and inheritances — runs at the model level, no positions required.

Area 9
· All tiersEstate & Succession
Annual exclusion gift tracker. Lifetime exclusion monitor with sunset awareness. Step-up watchlist. Federal and state estate tax projections for the dozen-plus states with their own estate or inheritance tax. Beneficiary and titling consistency checks. After-fee returns vs. your IPS blended policy benchmark with versioned-IPS-aware reconstruction (Tier B+). Long-term cost projection on the deterministic engine. We show the math; you draw the conclusion.
Area 12

Monthly, quarterly (Tier B+), and annual (Tier C) automated reports. Entity-level reports for trustees. Three opinionated PDF export bundles — for your CPA, for your attorney, for your trustee. Document vault with full-text search across filenames and tags. Net worth history with milestone markers.
Area 13
· All tiersProfessional Network
Directory of CPAs, attorneys, brokers, and trustees with engagement tracking. Multi-user shared views (CPA read-only, trustee dashboards) ship after launch behind a security review.
Area 14
· Three tiers, progressive disclosureOnboarding
A "What Just Happened?" entry path routes you by life event — self-directing for the first time, windfall, planning retirement, just retired, just inherited, major life change, reviewing your advisor, or simply wanting more rigor. Each entry produces a customized 30-minute Tier A setup. Tier B (positions) and Tier C (lots) are progressive upgrades you make when each unlocks features you want, never up front.
The three lines we don't cross
- No personalized recommendations of specific securities or trades. We surface candidates and the math; you choose.
- No automated execution. Ironlake is read-only with respect to every brokerage and bank.
- No advice framing. We are a governance system and a decision-support tool — not an advisor.
Security and privacy
