How-to
Export your IPS as a PDF
Generate a formatted PDF of your finalized Investment Policy Statement in Ironlake - objectives, risk, rules, and allocation - to share with a spouse, CPA, attorney, or trustee.
Your Investment Policy Statement is the document the rest of your finances answer to - and the one most worth handing to the people who may need to understand your reasoning. Ironlake renders your finalized IPS as a clean, formatted PDF you can share with a spouse who does not run the portfolio, a CPA, an attorney, or a trustee.
Before you start
The export lives on your active IPS - the finalized version the IPS page shows. Finalize your plan first so the PDF is a stable, dated artifact rather than a moving draft; if you have not finalized yet, build it and finalize the version. The export sits behind your normal login, and if you have a second factor enrolled, it enforces that step too - fitting for a document that contains your full financial policy.
Step 1 - Open your IPS
Go to IPS in the sidebar to open your active plan.
Step 2 - Export the PDF
Use the Export PDF action. Ironlake builds the document on the spot from your current plan and active model and downloads it, named by version so you can tell revisions apart.
What is in the document
The PDF assembles your plan into one readable artifact:
- Your objectives - return target, income target, and the maximum drawdown you are willing to tolerate.
- Your risk profile - the capacity, tolerance, and need scores you recorded.
- Your time horizons and the allocation model the plan references, with each sleeve's target and band.
- Your sell rules and never-sell rules, your tax-location rules, and any constraints - ESG exclusions, a liquidity floor, cash-reserve strategy, concentrated-position notes.
- The status of any active stabilization or cooling-off period.
A note on availability
At launch, the shareable IPS PDF export is part of Ironlake Core, the paid plan. Building and finalizing the plan in-product - the workflow that produces everything above - is the core experience, and the PDF is the artifact you hand to others.
What you have now
A formatted, version-stamped PDF of your governing plan, ready to share with the household and professionals who need to understand the rules your portfolio runs by.
