Terms of Service
Version 1, effective July 12, 2026.
Ironlake is operated by Ironlake Software LLC ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Ironlake Software LLC that governs your use of the Ironlake application and website at ironlake.co (the "Service"). By creating an account, checking the acceptance box at signup, or continuing to use the Service after an updated version of these Terms takes effect, you agree to the Terms.
1. What the Service is, and is not
Ironlake is a decision-support and analytics platform for household finances. It helps you organize financial information you provide, define your own written investment plan, and see calculations, scenarios, and worksheets derived from your inputs and assumptions.
Ironlake is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, accountant, or law firm, and the Service does not provide investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The Service never recommends securities or trades, never executes transactions, and never manages assets. You make every decision yourself. The separate Disclosures document, which you acknowledge alongside these Terms, describes this boundary in more detail and is part of your agreement with us.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may enable two-factor authentication in Settings, and we encourage it for a product that holds financial information.
3. Your data and our license to operate on it
You retain all rights to the information you enter into the Service. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that information solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you. We do not sell your data. The Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how it is handled.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse the Service or access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide; probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except through a coordinated disclosure to security@ironlake.co; interfere with other households' data or attempt to access it; use the Service to violate law; or resell, rent, or provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau.
5. Fees
Parts of the Service may require a paid plan. Prices, billing periods, and any trial terms are shown before you purchase. Except where a statutory right applies, fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins. We may change prices prospectively with notice before your next renewal.
6. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@ironlake.co (a self-serve closure flow may also be provided in Settings). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for legal or security reasons, or upon discontinuing the Service, with notice where practicable. The Privacy Policy describes what happens to your data when an account closes.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Calculations, projections, and scenarios in the Service are illustrations derived from your inputs and stated assumptions; they are not predictions, guarantees, or advice, and they may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying any figure before relying on it and for consulting qualified professionals about your specific situation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) Ironlake Software LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or investment losses, arising out of or relating to the Service; and (b) our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars or the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold Ironlake Software LLC harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service, except to the extent caused by our own breach.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello@ironlake.co and give us thirty days to work toward an informal resolution. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these Terms
We version these Terms. When a new version takes effect, we will present it in the Service and ask you to accept it before continuing to use your dashboard; the version and date you accepted are recorded on your account. The current version is always available at ironlake.co/terms.
